EN14470-1:2023 was prepared by CEN/TC332 "Laboratory Equipment" Technical Committee and approved by the European Committee for Standardization. The standard sets requirements for the structure, resistance to external fire, and fire performance of fireproof safety cabinets used in laboratories to store flammable liquids, clarifies the fire protection level and fire test requirements, and is currently one of the important standards in the field of safety cabinets in the world.

According to the time when the temperature rise does not exceed 180K in the fire test, the cabinets are divided into 30-minute cabinets, 60-minute cabinets, and 90-minute cabinets. A real fire test must be passed to meet the standard.

In the event of a fire, the safety cabinet should ensure that the items in the cabinet will not cause any additional fire risk or fire spread for at least 30 minutes. There are also detailed requirements for the cabinet door, that is, the cabinet door should be able to be fully and automatically closed from any position within 20 seconds from the time the cabinet door is released.

EN Flammable Safety Cabinet Features:

1. The whole cabinet is electrostatically sprayed, and the outer surface is corrosion-resistant, scratch-resistant and impact-resistant.

2. There is a gas circulation channel inside the cabinet, and there are 1 inlet and outlet vents on the top of the cabinet. The vents are equipped with automatic temperature sensing devices.

3. After passing the EN1363-1 fire resistance limit test, the highest temperature of the 14 temperature measurement points in the cabinet after the EN fire-resistant safety cabinet burns in the combustion furnace for 120 minutes is far lower than the upper limit of the temperature required by the international standard, meeting the EN14470-1:2023 standard.

4. The cabinet doors have passed the 40,000 reciprocating cycle opening and closing test.

5. The two cabinet doors are equipped with automatic temperature sensing and closing linkage devices. When the ambient temperature reaches about 50°, the temperature sensing device automatically works, and the cabinet doors opened on both sides can be automatically closed within 20 seconds.

6. It has its own inlet and outlet for air circulation, and can be connected to an external ventilation duct or circulating air filter. When the ambient temperature around the cabinet reaches about 70°, the temperature sensing device automatically works, and the two inlet and outlet flame arresters automatically close to prevent external fire sources from entering the cabinet.

7. The gap between the cabinet and the cabinet door is adhered with special fireproof, expansion and sealing materials, which automatically expand and fill the gap in the event of a fire, preventing external flames and heat from entering the cabinet.

8. It is standardly equipped with 2 adjustable shelves, and the cabinet can accommodate up to 5 shelves, forming 6 layers of storage space.

9. There are electrostatic grounding ports at the bottom of both sides of the cabinet, which can be equipped with pressure riveting screws to facilitate the connection of electrostatic grounding wires.

10. There is a forklift slot at the bottom of the cabinet, and the net height of the forklift slot from the ground is not less than 80mm. The base is detachable, suitable for small spaces, and easy to move and transport.

11. High-quality labels with good reflective warning performance and UV resistance are used. They comply with EN14470-1:2023 and EN ISO 7010 standards, making them easy for firefighters to identify in the event of a fire.

1. The cabinet body is welded with 1.2mm bare steel plate (before spraying), and the surface is flat and free of welding spots and welds.

2. The cabinet body surface is electrostatically sprayed with epoxy resin high-gloss powder, with a smooth surface, high reflectivity, uniform spraying, no burrs, no cracks, no wrinkles, rust-proof and moisture-proof.

3. Double-layer cabinet structure, two layers of galvanized steel plates with a 38mm fireproof and heat-insulating layer.

4. The shelves are integrally formed without welding, flat and without grooves.

7. The long row of stainless steel hinges opens smoothly, and there is no obvious gap between the hinges and the door.

8. The cabinet body is equipped with ventilation holes and independent flame arresters at the lower left and upper right, which can prevent the flame outside the cabinet from entering the cabinet through the airway in the event of a fire. The upper and lower external ventilation systems can be selected according to the density of the volatile gas of the chemical.

9. The three-point linkage lock ensures that the cabinet door is completely closed, with an anti-static design. It can be equipped with two independent locks to achieve double-person double-lock management

Strong Corrosive Safety Cabinet

The strong corrosive safety cabinet is welded with galvanized steel plates as a whole, and polypropylene plates are embedded inside. It has excellent properties of strong acid and alkali resistance and corrosion resistance. The product has anti-theft function, equipped with mechanical anti-theft locks that meet the GA/T73 standard, two-person receiving and sending, and two-person management, which fully complies with GA1511-2018 "Security Prevention Requirements for Storage Places of Explosive and Dangerous Chemicals" and "Regulations on the Safety Management of Dangerous Chemicals". It is suitable for storing explosive and dangerous chemicals such as acids, nitrates, chlorates, perchlorates, dichromates, peroxides and superoxides, flammable reducing agents, and nitro compounds.

The explosives in GB6944-2012 Dangerous Goods Classification and Product Name Number include 6 major substances and articles. The Ministry of Public Security has compiled the "List of Explosive and Dangerous Chemicals" (2017 Edition) in accordance with Article 23 of the "Regulations on the Safety Management of Dangerous Chemicals" (State Council Order No. 591). GA1511-2018 "Security Prevention Requirements for Storage Places of Explosive and Dangerous Chemicals" issued by the Public Security Administration of the Ministry of Public Security clearly stipulates the control requirements for chemicals listed in the "List of Explosive and Dangerous Chemicals" compiled by the Ministry of Public Security:

4 Small-dose storage places: storage rooms or storage cabinets used by teaching, scientific research, medical, testing and other units, where the total amount of all explosive and dangerous chemicals does not exceed 50kg.

7.5 Anti-theft security doors should be installed at the entrances and exits of small-dose storage places, or explosive and dangerous chemicals should be stored in special storage cabinets in the room.

7.9 Special storage cabinets should have anti-theft functions, meet the requirements of double-person double-lock management, and install mechanical anti-theft locks, which should comply with the relevant provisions of GA/T73.
